We are now recruiting a Systems and Network Administrator for our Dublin office. The role will report to the Operations and Security Manager and requires candidates to work as part of an IT team delivering support to internal users initially and growing to include support for our online mapping product and Amazon cloud environment.

The primary activity is to support the internal IT infrastructure, users, and services and to support all external SaaS applications in use in the company. This is a full-time, permanent position with fantastic opportunities for anyone interested in growing and developing their career in IT using innovative technology.

Duties and responsibilities

  • Install new / rebuild existing servers and configure hardware, services, settings, directories, storage, etc.
  • Windows Server 2012 – 2022 infrastructure management (Hardware and software)
  • Support office laptops, desktops and printers (Windows based with some Linux and MacOS)
  • Backup administration
  • Daily administration and support of software applications such as JIRA, MS Office etc.
  • Network Administration including switching, routing, VPN, WIFI and firewalls
  • Telephone administration
  • Anti-virus and vulnerability management
  • Monitoring – Nagios and Zabbix
  • Central log monitoring using Kibana
  • VMWare administration
  • Office 365 administration
  • OS patching and upgrade administration
  • Management of various cloud-based applications e.g. Hubspot, HR Locker etc.
  • Perform ongoing performance tuning and resource optimisation as required
  • Follow security guidelines for ISO27001, including change management, patch management, vulnerability assessment, access management and reporting etc.
  • Maintain process and procedure documentation
  • Follow established procedures for supplier relationships
  • Complete pricing and purchase of inventory related to hardware, software and other IT supplies
  • Maintain asset management system
  • Perform on-call duties as part of a rota

Skills requirements

  • BSC in Computer Science (or similar)
  • 2 years experience in an IT support role
  • Experience with Windows and Linux administration
  • VMWare administration
  • Good understanding of the following protocols: VPN, OpenVPN, SSH, LDAP, Active Directory, SMTP, DHCP, DNS
  • Experience of the following application software: Firefox, Office applications, Nagios, Zabbix, Office 365, Wiki, Nginx, MySQL, Java, SSL
  • Good communication, time management and team skills

Desirable skills

  • Experience with a scripting or programming language would be advantageous
  • Linux administration experience would be advantageous
  • Exposure to AWS and Azure would be advantageous
  • Oracle or DB management skills would be advantageous
