We recently built a Color by Value facility into eSpatial Pro.
This is a great color-precision styling tool, particularly if you’re familiar with hexadecimal colors. However, what if you’re not familiar with this established web coloring system?
Well, I’ve come across a great online styling page that, used in conjuction with eSpatial, will help you create the type of map you’re looking for.
Online tool Colorbrewer 2.0 has a simple interface that allows you to experiment with different hexadecimal colors and shades:
Play about with the Colorbrewer palate, including the dropdown menus, to find exactly the colors you want to put on your map. (Ensure you have selected the HEX in “pick a color system”.) Next, transfer the hexadecimal vales into the color by value palette in the style section of your eSpatial map.
Note
When transferring the HEX colors into eSpatial, make sure you delete the 0x from the color code and then replace with a standard # e.g., 0x7FC97F in Colorbrewer will become #7FC97F in eSpatial.
