If you’ve read any of our blog posts over the past few months, we’ve discussed how great mapping is, how it helps you to make business decisions quicker and easier and how it helps you to visualize and communicate your business data for reporting and presentations.
What we are well overdue at this stage is a blog post showcasing the real value you can get from simply visualizing your business data. One example that comes to mind is an anecdote shared by Shane, an eSpatial Customer Success Manager.
Shane recalls one of his first ever customers whose main lead generation and sales strategy was showcasing at tradeshows across the United States. The customer wanted to plot out the tradeshow locations on a map to identify potential crossover and to see if any costs can be reduced. Each tradeshow cost upwards of $20,000 from the cost of the space, signage, staff, promotional materials and more. So any savings on tradeshows could be used to follow up with leads generated at the tradeshows.
This customer uploaded their target market information along with trade show location data and plotted it on a map. They ran a radius analysis and realized within seconds that they had three tradeshows that were overlapping one another.
Based on the visualization of his business data they were able to eliminate one tradeshow while still reaching the same amount of people in the same locations. So within 5 minutes of mapping his business data he was able to save $20,000.
As a business owner, sales manager or management of any department, reducing costs is and always will be a key factor of success. And when mapping your data allows you to identify patterns and trends that everyone can see and understand, it makes decision making so much faster.
