Map customers to get the full picture of your market – what you’re doing right and what you could be doing better
Mapping software allows you to process huge amounts of information quickly. A map can…pinpoint customers quickly…reveal your biggest market…your best salesperson…where there’s room for expansion or contraction…and much much more. Analysis comes in a matter of minutes rather than hours. Below you’ll find the different ways you can map customers and what they can tell you about your market.
Pin Map
This is a basic expression of your customers and where they are. However, clicking each map point should allow you to dig deeper and show up detailed information about individual customers. Map customers like this and you have a fantastic way to get to key information quickly. With this type of map, you can also grade the levels – or types – of customers by using different colored pins.
Within Distance/Radius/Buffer map
It may be called by different names by different people, but map customers using a Within Distance facility and you get an insight into your market based on proximity of customers. Just set a radius distance to discover how many elements fall within that range. This is particularly useful when you’re exploring where to assign sales teams or set up a new office or retail branch.
Nearest Neighbor
Map customers using Nearest Neighbor and you can highlight them according to value rather than distance – e.g., find the nearest 10, 20 or 30 hotels to an airport. This is a smart way to organize field personnel who are assigned with appointments daily. Compare and contrast with Within Distance to distribute appointments in an equitable way.
