Customer Mapping with MapPoint
You may already use MapPoint to create Radius maps. This involves focusing on the spatial relationship between two sets of data. Although this feature has traditionally been available on MapPoint, the interface is not exactly user friendly. As a sales manager you want to able to look at a chart, table or map and instantly capture the key points. Effective data visualization is what you need, luckily eSpatial takes it a step further.
How to Map your Customers with eSpatial
Once you have your MapPoint data uploaded to eSpatial you can take advantage of eSpatial’s “Within Distance Report” and Radius Maps. What this allows you to do is overlay your dataset of existing customers with the locations of your sales team or rep. This has some distinct advantages. It allows you to instantly visualize gaps in the market, the distribution of your sales team and combine free demographic data to identify new opportunities.
Now MapPoint does allow you to achieve similar results but it has its restrictions. MapPoint requires users to save these maps as a file in order to share information with stakeholders whereas modern mapping solutions are entirely cloud based. Maps can be shared through links and the embedding feature. Field sales operatives can look at the radius map remotely to find the nearest existing customer and pay them a courtesy call. Similarly all the data is real time so managers or reps can instantly update each map with key info regarding accounts or prospects.
