Our next big release is just around the corner and I wanted to give you a preview of what we have in store.
Since our last release in April, we’ve been listening to your/our customer feedback to develop our existing product and enhance your experience with our software. This release will be launched early in July, but for now, here’s a sneak peek:
Map Annotations
One of the major features of this release is Map Annotations. Annotations are pieces of content that is overlaid on your map with additional information such your company logo, images, videos, instructions, and slideshows or just simple text. They can be used to present more information to viewers of your map, giving your map more context and a story.
For example, you can add your company’s logo to your map as well as images and graphs to highlight additional information in a sales territory. Similarly you could include tutorial videos and slideshows to help those analyzing the maps to better understand it.
Annotations are extremely customizable with various color and font settings. They can be set to be fixed to the screen, so the annotation will follow you as you pan over the map; or set to be fixed to a geographic location, to complement a particular map location.
Videos from YouTube, Vimeo, and other major video sites can be embedded onto maps, as well as presentations from Slideshare. Annotations will give you a more customized and branded feel to your map with a wealth of options to create customized interactive maps.
New In-App Communication Portal
We’re also delighted to announce a brand new way for you to communicate and get access to our mapping experts and help resources quicker and easier. We have completely revamped our in-app support module for our customers to allow you to keep track of previous conversations and provide you with help directly through our software when you need it most!
MapBook Updates
In our last release in April, we introduced the MapBook concept, a new way for you to export your territory maps into a PowerPoint file that that catalogues all of your sales territories and hierarchies into an easy to read handout.
We’ve now expanded this to produce a slidedeck of all your maps in a Workspace. This way you can print your entire collection of maps for meetings, colleagues and clients.
Map Carousel
Speaking of your Workspace, you can now view a carousel of all the maps you have created within your Workspace, giving you an overview of your maps at a glance and allowing you to quickly get a preview of each map you have created. Helping you find the right map you need, when you need it.
Territory Management Updates
We’re continually making our Territory Builder the better than ever with each release. Our latest update is based on your valuable feedback. We’ve made it even easier for you to add a territory to your Workspace. You can now add your Territory directly to your map from the control panel within Territory Builder by selecting “Add To Map”.
Additional Waypoints for Routing (Beta)
Our Route Optimization software allows you to create route planning maps in seconds, with turn-by-turn navigation for up to 23 waypoints (25 including Start and Stop). In our July release, we are upgrading this to 98 waypoints (100 including start and stop), however this will still be in Beta during this release. If you would like to become a Beta tester for this particular feature, let us know and we can work with you.
Other Enhancements:
We’ve made numerous background changes to help make your experience as fast and easy as possible. These include:
- Editing Polygons – You can now edit the boundaries of polygon dataset directly on your map (add and remove nodes/vertexes).
- Additional Integration/API enhancements to help get your business data uploaded to eSpatial effortlessly.
- Default distance – If you set the default distance to Miles or KM, this setting will be remembered in your browser for the next time you log in.
- Renaming and deleting multiple datasets is now even easier through the control panel.
As we get closer to the launch, stay tuned to our blog for more detailed walk-throughs of these features and benefits.
