As mentioned in a previous post, this month sees the launch of our latest release of eSpatial and we’re delighted to announce that the upgrade went through last weekend successfully.
We’re continuously updating our software to accommodate the needs of organizations of all sizes in today’s fast-paced and connected world. We’ve added a host of new features to help you and your team manage sales territories more effectively, delegate responsibility, and collaborate together.
If you’ve logged in this week, you may have already seen some of these features for yourself, but if not, we have a full breakdown of all the changes in this latest release below, and more importantly how they can benefit your business today.
What’s new in Collaboration?
Collaboration is such a crucial part of any organization today. Therefore, advanced collaboration is something we really want you and your team to be able to do seamlessly. Whether you are working with colleagues across the room or the country, real time collaboration can save time and ensure that your business runs efficiently. Because of this, we’ve made big changes to how you can collaborate using our maps. With our latest release you can:
- Collaborate in real time with multiple users.
- Share an entire workspace of maps with individual users and groups.
- Instantly be alerted to any changes with newin-app and email notifications.

What’s new in Territory Management?
Territory Management can help your business design, align, and balance sales territories, all while saving you time and money. As such an important part of your sales process, we are constantly updating it to ensure it meets the needs or growing and established sales teams. In this update, we have added:
- MapBooks – Export your maps in a booklet format.
- Advanced Hierarchies views – See more information at a glance in hierarchies.
- Delegation – Assign territories to your team quicker and easier.
Print a booklet of your maps with MapBook
With MapBook, you can export your territory maps into a booklet that catalogues all of your sales territories and hierarchies into an easy to read handout, great for making an impression at meetings and presentations. The MapBook is exported as a slide deck so it can be easily edited and or inserted into your other documents or PowerPoint presentations. Each page highlights a territory or view of your hierarchy with a contents page making it easy to find the right information quickly.

View more information in your hierarchies
Hierarchies allow you to create a chain of command to match your sales team’s organization structure and see their maps in your hierarchy. With our latest release, you can now see even more information in your organizational hierarchy view. Charts and graphs can now be viewed on your hierarchy giving you instant results on the balance of your data and market share information in your territories, and a view of your team’s responsibilities.
Delegate your territories to your Sales Team
In addition to the above, territories in your hierarchy can also be easily delegated to other members in your team. This is a great way to empower your sales team. You can delegate the management of your territories to an individual by simply using their email address. The delegation options available are:
- Sub-divide – The user has responsibility of a territory and can only make changes to that part of the territory and can then also delegate their territory to other users if they wish.
- View – Allow specific users to only view a territory.

What’s new in Integrations?
To help make it even easier for you to load your data into eSpatial, we’ve been working on various API integrations including CRM integration and a Data Upload Tool. Typically, your data will be sourced from a spreadsheet, a CRM such as SalesForce.com or a Marketing Automation platform such as Marketo. Most of these applications provide capabilities to export your data to various file formats with the added possibility to export automatically to a network location at regular intervals to be picked up. As well as the above changes to collaboration, territory management, and integrations; this release also includes various other enhancements such as:
- Increased password requirements for additional security of your account.
- Filter zoom controls, allowing you to prevent automatic zooming with adding/removing data layers.
- The ability to minimize the legend on territory maps and when printing maps
