eSpatial Training Services

eSpatial Solutions are a leading provider of enterprise spatial processing software, based on Oracle’s Spatial database technology

Our experienced Technical Education staff provides both public and onsite training programmes throughout the world. All courses are instructor-led in a classroom setting. The objective of the training is ultimately to provide attendees with the skills to make optimum use of iSMART® and become familiar with the underlying concepts of OracleÒ Spatial.

The courseware includes hands on exercises that simulate real-world projects and shows you how to build spatial applications using iSMART.

eSpatial provide standard iSMART Training, we create Tailored iSMART Training courses for partners and customers, we provide Application Specific Training on a per implementation basis and we also provide Oracle Spatial Training.

iSMART GeoPortal Training

eSpatial’s GeoPortal Training is a 1-day consultant led session, where an eSpatial Technical Education Resource introduces the customer to iSMART GeoPortal by loading, configuring and styling a sample dataset for viewing, querying and editing.

Standard iSMART Training

eSpatial’s Standard iSMART Training Course is a 5-day Course, giving a hands on introduction to the iSMART Product Suite. It is instructor led with interactive workshop sessions and exercises. At the end of this time the attendee will have touched on all-important iSMART Functionality, and will have the ability to perform basic web application development.

Tailored iSMART Training

eSpatial create tailored iSMART Training Courses for our customers and partners. This entails hands-on participation from the customer and involves creating a prototype Pilot Application with their data. Pilot Application Development is implemented in phases. Each phase complies with the above bulleted results points and is geared to create a “real-world” and working scenario of the defined customer application.

Application Specific Training

As part of our services to clients we are often called upon to provide training as part of a wider contract or project. We recognise the importance of individual learning and cognitive styles in effective learning and skills transfer. Our Training Team provide ‘Train the Trainer’ and presentation skills courses for staff to assist with skills transfer to our staff and Customers.

We emphasize that with our iSMART solution there is no requirement for users to learn about GIS. The need for training should be minimal in order to ensure widespread use by the Application Users.

For instance, the Irish Dept. of Agriculture & Food staff have been trained to use the iMAP, an iSMART based application. Because it is fully embedded in a web browser and is designed specifically to meet their business requirements the training was straightforward and required minimal resources.

Specifically, we will provide modular courses covering each major functional area for trainers and system administrators. Full training materials are prepared based around an on-line user guide. The training is hands-on, working through scenarios and involves Professional Services Consultants who have worked on building the application, who will provide specific Use Cases & Examples and assist in interpretative aspects of the training.
