iSMART Server provides advanced J2EE compliant spatial components to simply and efficiently, manage and integrate spatial information. It allows for improved business services incorporating spatial intelligence and significantly reduces the cost of managing your spatial data.
The benefits delivered by iSMART Server are derived from its innovative network centric architecture. At the application server level iSMART provides components that allow you to easily manipulate spatial data such as viewing, editing and printing. They are easily extensible and inherit the qualities of service offered by the application server such as security and reliability etc.
iSMART's spatial data cache within the application server, substantially increases performance. As an illustration of the level of performance , the cache allows high speed data feeds (such as from network, tracking or radar), be viewed live, on-line as and when they are received.
iSMART's true n-tier archtiecture allows multiple databases to be integrated. It can be deployed in a clustered environment to facilitate fail-over and load balancing.
Within the database itself, iSMART implements a topology engine used to maintain connectivity, adjacency etc. (iSMART is Oracle 10G compliant).
The tools provided allow you to:
* Model relationships to improve response times to common spatial queries
* Enforce business rules for spatial elements guaranteeing data integrity.
* Run topology checks on all data updates to eliminate digitizing errors automatically.
iSMART Server supports a range of client options including Applet, HTML and JSP and an Off-line 'occasionally connected' client. Spatial data can be delivered to practically any device, at anytime, anywhere.
