Delivery/ Software-as-a-Service (SaaS)
- What is the difference between SaaS and in-house server delivery?
If you choose SaaS delivery, we host eSpatial OnDemand GIS on our servers, and handle all the associated updates and maintenance. You pay a set monthly fee per user, which is generally cheaper than hosting an instance of software on your own in-house servers.
If you choose to in-house hosting, you receive a copy of eSpatial OnDemand GIS to host on your own servers, and are responsible for applying updates and conducting server-related maintenance yourself. The cost structure associated with this delivery is similar to that of a server installation, focusing on CPU cores rather than per-user pricing. More on in-house server delivery
- What sort of setup is involved?
SaaS delivery involves very little setup for customers: after signing our customer agreement, all you need to do is ensure that you’re using a supported browser. We’ll set you up and get you going as soon as possible.
