Deloitte has released the results of their annual survey on expected Christmas expenditure – and there’s plenty to think about!
Respondents were asked how much they’d spend on gifts, socialising, food and drink – and the results vary quite widely, as you can see in the map above.
The Irish and Italians will be amongst the biggest spenders this festive season, in spite of austerity budgets and economic troubles.
Meanwhile, the financially conservative Dutch will spend the least this Christmas – nearly a quarter of the amount that the Irish expect to spend.
Overall, respondents reported increasing financial savviness, researching the best deals both online and offline before making a purchase.
