GIS: Recreating history

When most of us think about GIS, we don’t tend to think about its applicability to historical situations. What happened a year ago perhaps – but not a hundred years ago or longer.

So we were interested to read a recent New York Times article that explains how historians are using GIS to gain additional insights and share information on historical events.
